The City of Connellsville is located in Fayette County which lies in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Connellsville sits on the banks of the Youghiogheny River. Originally founded as a borough on March 1, 1806, in February 1909, balloting in New Haven and Connellsville resulted in our two boroughs joining and becoming the first City in Fayette County on May 12, 1911.

Volunteer opportunity...The Connellsville Recreation Board is in need of volunteers willing to attend one meeting a month, join in on yearly fundraisers and events that finance the Recreation Fund. The Recreation Fund monies are used for keeping the City parks safe and updated. If you, or someone you know, is interested, please submit your letter of interest to: Vernon E.
